Fall Harvest

Drool all you Northerners.
If you saw my pictures of my sisters tomatoes and mine, you realized how too much heat can ruin a great crop.  Well here's to my Minnesota family.  I just picked these yesterday and still have blossoms on the green beans.  I rule now.  John and I have learned a lot this summer on how heat can hinder growth as well as the short season in Minnesota.  Next year we will blow my sisters tomatoes away. Well easy to say because by next year my treat will be forgotten.

Moral of this story, gloat when you can.

How does your garden grow?

I have gotten e-mails from family that wonder how the garden looks especially since the pumpkins are so big. Then the rest of the garden must be huge. I have to say that it's really beautiful. I wonder what it's going to look like in a few years when the plants have grown and everything has settled in.

So, this morning Austin and I took the camera out for a few pictures before the sun hits the garden. The sun is way too harsh on the garden and the photos never look so good.

God bless you all on the beautiful Thursday morning.

Back Yard Surprise

I have to say, that in all the years in Minnesota, this is the largest tomato plant I have ever grown. The funny thing is that in the three weeks we were gone, this plant doubled itself and was ready to take over the world.

I must say that when I was new at gardening, I did us Turf Builder from Scott's on my tomato plants and as many of you know, there wasn't a tomato to be found. What...you never did something that stupid. The greenhouse loved my question about not having tomatoes. He was nice and simply explained my mistake. Thank goodness, I felt dumb enough without the snicker.

Have a great day.
