It's my turn.

While Austin is enjoying and often falling off his perch, I am designing my Valentine's Day cards. And loving every minute. I can't show you everything but I love this one. Don't you just love when you step out of your comfort zone and do something you love. This card incorporates the paper lace doily. Yummm. I also venture into pop up cards. I might show you one of those if Austin will give me back my keyboard.

Happy Blessing from the designer in the house.

Witch is true?

A few years ago, for a red hat party, I actually dressed up as a witch, I even painted my face. The look was...well shall I say, interesting.

The best part is that I often think to myself...witch am I? Someone true to my beliefs or that person dressed up in the uniform of the dark. Do I look at everything and give it proper thought before making judgement.

In today's society, they want you to be PC proper. I have decided that it's important to take a stand. To be an individual, to stand up and be counted. If that makes me a witch, so be it. But one thing I know, I am true to my belief and stand by them. I am not angry, threading, or down right mean. I live my days being the best person I can be. I also, don't pick fights.
So, everyone who knows me can make the determination of what they believe I am. For me, witch or not, I am me.

Happy Halloween to those who stop in and visit my little blog.

Halloween Already?

Not for most of the country, but for a graphic designer making designs for her up and coming greeting card sales, it has started. I wanted you to see my first one for 2010.

What do you think, is it a keeper. I say I can even do better.

Valentines Day is a comming.

I think I mentioned that I decided that I miss designing the cards on the holiday. So, I decided to design for the next years sales around the holiday instead of doing Valentine cards in December for the February holiday. So here is my first 2011 Valentine card. I think it will be fun to design without pressure. However, I seem to work great under pressure. Giggle.

I hope you enjoy the card. I think it's so very different. I am trying to get away from just red hearts on white paper. What do you think, should I do more that look different or do you prefer the red, white and black look?

I need to take new pictures but wanted to share the card with you.

God bless those in Haiti and all of you.

It came to me today....

what happened to this weekend, where was I, how did it disappear without me noticing it's departure? Even if I saw it coming would I change a thing...probably not. I believe I am a little too structured. Where did that come from? Why is it that every morning I wake up with a plan for the day. More planning than day.

Maybe it's my upbringing. My mom was a hard worker, and so my dad. And do I really care. I find myself content with my life as I make it. And if I had more time off what would I do with it? I know it wouldn't be sitting in the sun drinking a fine blender drink or watching the birds for hours as they fly in the ski.

By golly that's it, I am happy and would not change a thing. I like a list of things to do and the possibilities of completing it. I like the time in my gardens and the mid afternoon nap when caught by surprise. Yes, this is a good life. Sometimes complicated but by my making.

But when I do take time to squander I truly appreciate it and spend it without quilt.
