They say I'm growing...

But really, they are surely making my world smaller. I remember the first time I jumped up at the window sill in Carols paste em up room. I could spread out and see the world. I loved watching other creatures going by and John arriving home from golf.

But than it happened. I fell off. I thought it was a one time deal. But it started to happen more often. Awake and asleep. I can tell you that I acted as if I wanted to fall off. But between you and I really fell.

Such things as going under the table in the living room or running under the bed, it's getting harder. Growing up is hard to do.

I know that my people will make things right but until then I have to watch out for smaller openings and lower beds.

As always boof to all of you.

Send love for pet loss.

Yesterday I spent time designing a dog sympathy card, while John was out in the back digging more holes. Tomorrow I am going to post an updated picture of the work going on in the back yard. However, it's a long way from done.

But today is sympathy card day. I am proud of this piece, mostly because often while designing, I loose my way and find myself wondering how the card will be finished. The point is always the finishing mark on each card.

The main piece here are the hearts. One heart didn't do it. After about an hour and may heart tries, I did two hearts and it made the card. Just thought you would like to know even creative people get stumped. But the will to create a great card always wins and I never quit.

Have a great weekend

A view of the pond.

Yesterday Timber had to go to the veterinarian. This is usually just another trip in her car and a little treat for taking all her shots. But yesterday was something new. I realized she was eleven and getting older. As I watched the vet examining her, I realized what a part of my life she is.

She and I spend a lot of time together, I take care of her and she loves me. I talk to her and I know all she hears is the tone of my voice, indicating what I am feeling. And that is enough for both of us.

We sat on the deck today looking over the pond. We both realized that it was simply a beautiful day. Again, that seemed like enough for both of us.

A glimpse into my heart. God bless all those to venture into my little world I call Balsam Ponds.

Timber Has a Sleep Over...

needless to say it wasn't her idea. Eli belongs to my husbands daughter. We usually tell her that Eli is coming. Timbers view of the red head is, she really doesn't have one. He is a puppy, she's the senior and she rules. Her belief is that one beautiful, talented bird dog is enough for her humans.

She finds her work load doubled because she has to be more attentive. This is surely going to take away from here hunting duties. Even though she doesn't chase the critters as much as she used to she must keep them aware of her superiority.

This morning after the second night of Eli's visit she took a walk around the room to view the damages. Yes, there it was again. Her favorite toy with holes in it. It doesn't matter that she had destroyed the squeaker, it was that Eli tore more holes in it. This yellow plastic toy was now trash. She glanced at it and walked around the room checking each toy. The last stop was here red bed were he'd been last. No longer would she call it home. Not until it was washed.

Then it happened, the redhead and her humans headed for the door, it was a new day and she had secured the one thing that was everything to her. Her little piece of earth and the two humans she was in charge of. It was not only a great achievement but now a nap was in order.
Once again she had saved us. Sigh.
