Just a start.

I mentioned that this little change would prompt more changes as we get ready for the next step. Many of you have written, asking about more flowers and a garden that would really make the house beautiful. We plan a fence with flowers, and an arbor. This will probably have to wait for next year. I wanted to show you what the final... first step looked like. Hope you enjoy the change, we sure do.

Therapy or Correctness?

I think it's time to get over my hissy fit and stop torturing myself. Writing is great therapy and I love it.

So let's get back to it. The back yard. I know it's been a long time since I said anything about the back yard. The truth is with John's health being a large part of last summer, work on the back yard slowed down. We knew what we were going to do, but left it at the planning stage.

This week he started our sunning platform. This is a flat area dug out of the hill and tile was placed on the base to support two chase lawn chairs. It measures 12 ft. by 12 ft. Now this picture only shows the first step. We have to put a retaining wall running the back part before we are done.

God Bless those who follow my little blog.

What's with the yard?

It's time to get back to our yard, bring more life to a plain landscape. We are a little behind due to a fence job. Our neighbor decided to put a fence and it would attach to ours. So we decided to have some of the fence replaced. And at the same time enlarge our fenced in area. This was before Austin came into our life. We are happy with the results but since we hired it done, it took away from our lawn budget. It was worth it.
Hope you enjoy the pictures.

We are excite to pick up the pace on our landscaping. So finishing the back yard and doing a little in the front yard is important. Beauty and brawn make such a great team. I know you know which one I am.

God Bless all those who travel through my little blog.

Small deck big grill

We have always had huge decks. Making it easy to house the grill and all the wonderful furniture it took to make the spaces work for lots of people and entertaining. When we decided to move here we realized we didn't have the deck. It was only about 12 x 16 feet. After thinking it over we decided it was big enough for the two of us. But if we had company it would be too small.

Building a new deck or what? We decided to remove the grill from the deck and making it a perfect deck for four to six sitters.

So this is our next step. Grill platform was the answer. I love it, it works so good. And again John did on heck of a job. I think I will keep him.....at least till the yard is done. Giggle.

Have a great day everyone.
