Just when you think you've seen it all....

What a day, the humans took me for another ride. This time my leash came with us. I was prepaired for another car ride and I was sure I could keep my breakfast down. At least I hoped. I am loving this ride thing.
Then we pulled into this place full of trees, and other things. What was John up too. Oh my gosh, Carol opened my door and clipped on my leash. This was new.

On top of it she wanted me to jump out. Really, I am a puppy, what is she thinking....ok, I will try. I made it, of course I looked as though I knew I could. What next was coming. We walked through this wonderful place with smells that would send you out of this world. We picked out two bushes and started back to the car, I thought.

But no, into this building, I didn't want to go. But John assured me we were ok. I met three new humans, got a treat, and back into my car.

Once again, I am truly worldly and no one knew I was new at this.

As always buffs to all of you that travel through MY blog.
Austin.

Car Goodies.

Today while packing and of course our time spent on the porch, wondering if we remembered everything, a car turned around in our driveway, or at least that's what we thought. Until our friend stepped out of the car with a big purple gift bag. She said it was just a little something to get us going. Humm. I said or bribing us to leave. Well it turned out she wants us back.

Good thing she made that clear because she sent enough food to keep us busy eating and driving possible to Minnesota and back. There were two items that almost made me cry. A little looking glass and a journal. Why cry you say, think about it....looking at ones self and writing. Oh boy again, what is she thinking. But as I read the note I realized she is right. Even though I write most things on my blog there are times I don't publish thoughts. So, dear friend, I will write and read in the future.

I am so blessed
Carol

My Humans Really Rock

This weekend started out as they usually do, but then it happened. The suitcase, the activity but mostly my bed. Carol acted as if nothing was happening. But when I saw my bed I knew my heart would control my body. My tail started to wag and Carol knew she was busted.

What were we doing, where were we going, could it be one of the three yards I have fallen in love over the years. These humans that own the yards are really special. They are related. More trips more fun. But first, which one are we going to visit. Of course, it really didn't matter.

As always, I drink lots of water, we always stop and I get to run. Than as usual I get a treat. John usually figures out what I am doing and stops the process by saying. Puppy what are you doing? I love when he calls me puppy.

As the trip went on, I started to smell it in the air, we were definitely heading for one of the scent filled large yards. I have to keep an eye on my humans. I hate when I loose them. They are after all, only human.

John drove into Marv and Diane's yard. Oh my, I could hardly stand it. I was going to die if they didn't park my truck. And off I went, sniffing, investigating and checking in. This is the yard I was given to enjoy. Carol tried to stop me from getting too tired. I would have none of that. She loves me and so I understand. But a dog has to do what a dog has to do.
We left on Sunday morning and headed for home. What a trip, what a family. They surely rock. Carol and John talked of their own fun time with them but no one, but no one, had more fun then me.

The World According to Timber

One of the family I have not introduced, other than by name is our English Setter named Timber. She came to us over 10 years ago with the main objective to train us in. It didn't take long for her to achieve her goal. She never goes on furniture, only barks when it fits her needs and basically does everything right. Yes I said right.

I know it seems impossible for a dog to second guess her humans. But Timber does that on a regular basis. In the winter she will consider a cuddle with me, but when spring comes she has little time for us. Often when she is laying on the rug and John and I call to her she looks annoyed. I think she is saying to herself....it sure takes a lot of work to keep these two happy.

But one thing we know is that she loves us. Otherwise she would get tired of the hugs, and all the attention we demand. Her agility is slipping and she gets off the floor a little slower, she sleeps harder these days not unlike here humans.

Her favorite thing in the world is a riding. She would rather be in her vehicle than anywhere else. I know if you could ask her what she loves. We would come in second after a good road trip. It is good to come home to a wag of the tail, and a smile, yes a smile. She has unconditional love even when she feels she has better things to do.
